CAP
Resources was founded by Laura Capper in 1994.
From inception, the firm has focused on the needs of early-stage
and emerging companies. Over the past eight years, CAP Resources
has served the needs of over 200 companies, including venture capital
companies, licensing offices, start-ups, professional service companies
and emerging divisions of Fortune 500 companies. CAP Resource’s
customer base spans Texas, the east and west coasts and international
markets. We have played a direct role in helping raise over $325
million in equity financing, and are proud to have substantially
increased shareholder value for our client companies.
Laura Capper, Founder and CEO, holds a BS
in Electrical Engineering with a minor in BioEngineering from Rice
University, Summa Cum Laude.
Prior to founding CAP Resources, Laura served
as an executive manager in technology-related marketing, sales, and
operations roles for over 18 years with both public and privately held
companies. Her in-depth knowledge of technology
coupled with an exhaustive understanding of marketing and distribution
strategies has enabled many clients to leapfrog the competition and
accelerate investor recruiting. In addition to serving as CEO and primary
strategist for CAP Resources, Laura is on the Advisory Board of the
Houston Technology Center where she serves as an HTC Mentor, serves
on the Board of Directors for the Houston MIT Enterprise Forum and
the Advisory Board of BioHouston, is active with The Center for Houston’s
Future, and is an accredited provider of Continuing Education Services
for the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is
an Advisory Director of the Rice Alliance for Technology Entrepreneurship,
and is frequent guest lecturer at Rice University and various entrepreneurship
forums. Laura
was a Founder and Director of eRealty.com,
served as Director for Wallis State Bank, and
is currently President and Director of Princess Energy Systems.
Stuart Maudlin is a Principal Strategist with
CAP Resources. Stuart has over 30 years experience
in providing comprehensive strategic management and consulting services.
As a former President and CEO of three high-tech startups, he is inherently
qualified to provide real-world, first-hand advice to CAP Resources’s
clients. Stuart is a frequent speaker, moderator and panelist at technology
conferences, and has been interviewed and quoted
in national publications including Red Herring, Forbes Online,
Business 2.0, NG Magazine and Computerworld. He holds
a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from
Purdue University, and has done graduate work
at both Purdue and Rice. He has taught at the University of Houston’s
Bauer College of Business, University of Houston’s Global Energy
Management Institute and Rice University’s
Jones Graduate School of Management. Stuart
has been active with the Houston Technology
Center since its inception, and has served on the Board of Directors
for the Houston MIT Enterprise Forum. Stuart conceived and implemented
the MIT Enterprise Cornerstone Clinic, targeted at helping mid-market
companies identify business strategies and achieve business objectives.
Stuart provides unique insights into development and protection of
intellectual property and auction strategies and serves as Founder
and CEO of Auctus Development. Most recently, Stuart completed a long
term engagement as interim CFO of Mad Croc Brands, a consumer packaged
goods company.
Tammy Ross (not shown) is the Business Manager
for CAP Resources. In addition to handling
our payroll and all accounting, Tammy insures that the ship runs smoothly.
Tammy also consults with a variety of small businesses in need of general
business services. She is a master of QuickBooks, and excels at setting
up general business infrastructure, personnel management, inventory
control, research and management of special programs.
In addition to
our principal consultants, CAP Resources has
long term relationships with a breadth of contributing specialists
in areas including non-profit development, media, graphics, collateral
development, and intellectual property development and protection.
