Barry Simpson is a Consulting Associate at CAP Resources with extensive international experience in drilling and production waste management across the global oil & gas industry.
Barry’s expertise includes strategic planning, operations management, new business development, new business start ups, business performance & profit improvement and developing/implementing service quality and competency management standards.
He has extensive hands-on operations management experience in large multi-national corporations. Most recently, as Global Director of Operations Support for the top multinational oilfield service company’s Environmental Solutions business, he coordinated the development of the segment’s global service quality standard and competency management system as part of a transformation program to improve business performance. He also led the integration and global roll out of a corresponding knowledge sharing and management system for the segment. As Director for the market leading Environmental Solutions business unit in Latin America, he was a key member of the senior executive team that delivered a record $1 billion in annual revenues for the region, growing the Latin American segment of the business by over 50%. Barry has overseen a number of new business development initiatives in Latin America and Europe.
Having lived in and worked across many different countries, Barry brings a local, regional and global view to the strategy, direction and successful growth of emerging global business opportunities.
Barry holds an M.Sc. in Strategic Planning and an MBA from Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland and has studied Scenario Planning at Oxford university. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
